Lulang Forest Sea – A Highland Wonderland in the “Valley of the Dragon King”
“Lulang” means “Valley of the Dragon King” in Tibetan. Known as the “Switzerland of Tibet,” Lulang Forest Sea is a dreamlike alpine forest located in Lulang Town, Bayi District, Nyingchi, about 80 km from Bayi along China’s iconic National Highway 318.
At an altitude of 2,700–4,200 meters, this region enjoys a mild, humid plateau climate and is lovingly nicknamed the “Jiangnan (Southern China) of Tibet.”
Here you can:
Stroll through mist-shrouded forests and majestic snow-capped peaks;
Interact with local Tibetan horses;
Learn traditional archery;
Listen to birds singing along scenic wooden walkways.
Surrounded by snow mountains, deep gorges, meadows, and pine woods, the area bursts with life. Wildflowers bloom across the alpine fields, jade-colored lakes reflect the clouds and sky, and playful squirrels leap through the trees.
Lulang Forest Sea is a sanctuary of nature, where every tree breathes with life and every scene looks like a living postcard of the Himalayas.
